چکیده

Capturing application semantics and allowing a human analyst to express his focus in mining have been the motivation for several recent studies on constrained mining. In this paper, we introduce and study the problem of constrained clustering| nding clusters that satisfy certain user-speci ed constraints. We argue that this problem arises naturally in practice. Two types of constraints are discussed in this paper. The rst type of constraints are imposed by physical obstacles that exist in the region of clustering. The second type of constraints are SQL constraints which every cluster must satisfy. We provide a prelimary introduction to both types of constraints and discuss some techniques for

Developing a Recommendation Framework for Tourist by Mining Geo-tag Photos (Case Study Tehran District 6)

With the increasing popularity of sharing media on social networks and facilitating access to location technologies, such as Global Positioning System (GPS), people are more interested to share their own photos and videos. The world wide web users are no longer the sole consumer but they are producers of information also, hence a wealth of information are available on web 2.0 applications. The ...

Clustering with Propagated Constraints

Title of Thesis: Clustering with Propagated Constraints Eric Robert Eaton, Master of Science, 2005 Thesis directed by: Dr. Marie desJardins, Assistant Professor Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering Background knowledge in the form of constraints can dramatically improve the quality of generated clustering models. In constrained clustering, these constraints typically specif...

SOPS: A System for Efficient Processing of Spatial-Keyword Publish/Subscribe

Massive amount of data that are geo-tagged and associated with text information are being generated at an unprecedented scale. These geo-textual data cover a wide range of topics. Users are interested in receiving up-to-date geo-textual objects (e.g., geo-tagged Tweets) such that their locations meet users’ need and their texts are interesting to users. For example, a user may want to be update...

Towards the Reduction of Spatial Joins for Knowledge Discovery in Geographic Databases Using Geo-Ontologies and Spatial Integrity Constraints

Spatial join is the most expensive operation in geographic databases, but essentially important to compute spatial relationships intrinsic to geographic data. In account of spatial relationships real world entities may affect the behavior of other entities in the neighborhood. Spatial relationships are fundamental for knowledge discovery in geographic databases and are strongly related to the d...

A System for Region Search and Exploration

With the increasing popularity of mobile devices and location based services, massive amount of geo-textual data (e.g., geo-tagged tweets) is being generated everyday. Compared with traditional spatial data, the textual dimension of geo-textual data greatly enriches the data. Meanwhile, the spatial dimension of geo-textual data also adds a semantically rich new aspect to textual data. The large...
